Is it taking you an extra minute to figure out what day it is, let alone the date? I mean even Mother’s Day snuck up on me. Ironically somehow, I always know when it’s Friday! How’s your mood? Steady, stagnant, unpleasant, all over the place? Wherever you are, it’s okay because this pandemic is affecting all of us in some way. Are you interested in boosting your mood? If so, keep reading. Have you ever just stopped to smell the roses, like for real? Most would probably say yes. That scent you smell from that rose or other plant is the essence or essential oil. Why do you care? Well because you can use essential oils the next time you need to boost your mood. Without getting too technical, in case you’re not familiar, essential oil happens after a plant has been distilled and the aromatic substance is extracted. The benefits from these extractions are enormous!!! Essential oils are great for boosting your mood or maintaining a positive one, easing stress, promoting clarity, relieving pain, and aiding in relaxation. And there’re so many more therapeutic advantages. A post for another day. However you want to feel, there’s most likely an essential oil that will naturally assist. Prior to store shelves being emptied of all essential items, I’d only dabble in using some of the more familiar oils like lavender, tea tree and lemon. But now, I’ve been learning more about essential oils and creating blends that work and are safe for my family.
One easy way to use essential oils is by spreading it throughout a room, better known as diffusion. This ranges from putting a few drops of essential oil on a tissue to using an electrical diffuser. Recently I created the following essential oil diffuser blend to clear my head and foster positivity.

It has a sweet aroma that's bright, calming, soothing and balancing. Blending Recipe: 2 drops Sweet Orange Oil (Citrus sinensis) 2 drops of Sweet Basil (Ocimum basilicum ct Linalool) 1 drop Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) 1 drop of Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) ***It's important to know and use the essential oil based on it's Latin name in parentheses. There are several varieties of some essential oils and they have different therapeutic properties. *Sweet Orange Oil (Citrus sinensis) bright energy and promotes positivity *Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) calms irritability, eases frustration and harmonizes *Sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum ct Linalool) eases headaches, improves personal motivation *Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) calming and uplifting and can help diffuse feelings of frustration and anger. My mood is boosted! Let me know if you use this blend and what your thoughts are about it.
